The History Of Breitling Chronomat Watches

The Breitling Chronomat Watches began its life in 1940 when the Swiss government became the patent for a unique innovative circular slide-rule that was the first to be used with regards to wrist chronographs. The first ever Breitling Chronomat Watches were first made and sole in 1941 and 1942. Later on, the incredible success of the Breitling Chronomat Watches, started the era of Navitimer that also followed the slide-rule and was used by pilots.

From the 1980’s to the 1990’s the Breitling Chronomat Watches stayed on top even though electronic watches became more popular. In 2000, brand new versions of the Breitling Chronomat Watches began to appear previous forms of watches began to fall in their sales and the Breitling Chronomat Watches came up with baton hour markers and a brand new dial design which had wide flat surrounds that were found around the sub dials.

By 2009, the Breitling Chronomat Watches had completely changed in its appearance and has become almost unrecognisable from when it first came out. Breitling has been the only biggest watch company to offer CODC certified chronometer movements in all the watches in its collection. This marks the commemoration of the incredibly high standards of watch manufacturing by the Breitling watch company. This is a feather to the Breitling company because there are only 3% of watch manufacturing companies in Switzerland receive this certification.
